As a result of Hurricane Isaac devastating St. John the Baptist Parish, many organizations are working to recover St. John and help residents rebuild. In an effort to assist those who have been affected by Hurricane Isaac, a recovery fund has been set up to help those victims living in St. John the Baptist Parish. A donation to the “Hurricane Isaac Recovery Fund” will be used toward purchasing large volumes of rebuilding supplies such as sheetrock, sheetrock mud, screws, and other materials for volunteers to assist with rebuilding homes in the St. John area. Volunteer teams are being coordinated to assist in cleaning and gutting as well as rebuilding homes.
Residents can call the Volunteer Assistance Hotline at (985) 359-0254 Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register for volunteer assistance in their homes.
